Use a reflective story style to tell someone else’s story.
Doris Sander tells a story for her father on “Best Friend,” the story of his 17th year when he had moved to Florida to his mother’s house, pulled by an attraction to the sea. He began fishing then with the young man who would become his lifelong best friend–and one with whom he caught a 12-foot gator.
Doris tells the story with the photo of the skinned gator and hand-written journaling. Her father has carried this photo in his wallet for 60 years.
