REFLECTIVE | By the Sea by Carrie Arick

Use a reflective style to tell a story of many years that still impacts you today.

Carrie Arick used a photo of her son with his cousins, each of them separate and looking out to sea, to tell a story of difficult relationships. This is a story that extends back before these people were born and that is still going on today.

She says, “I am the black sheep in my family, which means relationships with my sisters can be difficult. On this page, I’m telling that story as well as considering how it affects my son and his relationships with his aunts and cousins.”
