Artsy text.
Anna Aspnes rendered her short title, “Why,” multiple times in artsy and elaborate type on this page. She says, “I love the artsy text here. I used three different fonts for one word: Chopin Script, Paddy Wagon WF and Times New Roman. Instead of typing the letters successively and changing the font for each letter I typed the letters individually, on their own layers in Photoshop, and placed them in a visually pleasing manner.”
“I rasterized the type to make it editable so I could customize each letter with partial erasing. For example, the*w* in *Why* was created by combining the *w* from both Chopin Script and Paddy Wagon WF. The heart-shaped *loops* resulting from this process are filled with color gradients serve to support the theme of my layout. The repetition of words emphasizes meaning. The diagonal angles and swirls add contrast to an otherwise linear and graphic design.”
