Tell your story with a representational motif.
Emily Pitts combined representational motifs (maps and text) with an abstract (the white on green arrow-like design) on this page about her relationship with her husband.
She says, “To convey that I can be hard to read, I printed our photo on a piece of text-print patterned paper. I used a map stamp as well as map paper, and highlighted one of the intersecting lines of the different papers to indicate this was the road to take. There is a lot of symbolism in this piece, more for me than anyone else.”
