CHOOSING PATTERNED PAPER | Discover Joy by Doris Sander

Choose patterns to create repetitions.

Repetition is a great tool for creating unity on a pageā€”or in any work of art. The motifs, colors, and shapes in a patterned paper opportunities for repetitions on the scrapbook page.

Doris says, “I used a strength-in-numbers approach to create a statement wall with my vintage trim collection on ‘Discover.'”

Doris started the page with a floral-print patterned paper background and then added repetitions of both flowers and the delicate tone of that paper. The doilies, and vellum words have the same daintiness. The floral motif is repeated with stitched flowers and the flowers in the band of lace trims.
