Use a title to cue subject or theme.
Emily Pitts conveys her subject with a big two-part, layered title on “2792 | I Grew Up Here.” The viewer understands what the single photo is of and the sense of this one home is emphasized by the inclusion of the oversized house number.
Of the design, Emily says, “The title overlaps the photo; the title overlaps itself; the papers overlap each other; the journaling overlaps the papers; the stamps overlap the papers as well. Everything is crammed into the center of the page. I did this because I want to convey: lots of fun memories are associated with this house.”
