Use a title to strengthen page design.
Emily Pitts’ oversized title links the two sides of her double-page layout. Not only does it unite the two sides, it overlaps the photos and draws the viewer’s eye to them. Additionally, it provides a strong grounding foundational piece–like a shelf–that supports the elements above.
Emily Pitts says, “Many of my two page designs have long, large titles that tie into the journaling. I like to run the title over the break between the two sides so the design looks like one canvas. I designed the title in an editing program with dummy photos to make sure placement of everything worked. Then I cut each side with my Silhouette. I double cut the main word, “Laughter” in orange and then black, layered them, and popped them up with dimensional adhesive.”
